Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor’s Degree courses in Allied Health Sciences must have studied English as one of the subjects during their qualifying course. For admission to the Bachelor of Science degree courses through lateral entry, candidates must have successfully completed a diploma in the relevant subject corresponding to the course for which they are seeking lateral entry.

1B.Sc (Medical Lab Technology) Pass in PCB

A candidate seeking admission to the Bachelor of Science degree courses in the Allied Health Sciences course from Sl.No 1 to 15 shall have studied English as one of the principal subject during PUC/12th Std.

1) Two year Pre-University examination or equivalent as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as principal subjects of study.

2) Pre-Degree course from a recognized University considered as equivalent by RGUHS, (Two years after ten years of schooling) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as principal subjects of study.

3) Any equivalent examination recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore for the above purpose with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as principal subjects of study.

4) The vocational higher secondary education course conducted by Vocational Higher Secondary Education, Government of Kerala with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in addition to vocational subjects conducted is considered equivalent to plus two examinations of Government of Karnataka Pre- University course.

5) Candidate with two years diploma from a recognized Government Board in a subject for which the candidate desires to enrol, in the respective Allied Health Sciences course mentioned in Sl. No 1 to 13 shall have passed plus 12 (10+2) with Physics Chemistry and Biology as principal subjects or candidates with 3 years diploma from a recognized Government Board in a subject for which the candidate desires to enroll, in the respective Allied Health Sciences course mentioned in Sl. No 1 to 13 should have studied Physics, Biology and Chemistry as principal subjects during the tenure of the course.

6) In case of admission to BPO or B Sc Optometry the candidate should have passed PreUniversity or equivalent examination with PCB/PCM as principal subjects of study.

Candidates must be Indian citizens and at least 17 years old. They must meet at least one specified eligibility clause, each requiring original supporting documents during verification. Failure to meet any clause or provide valid documents will result in disqualification from admission under the Government quota. Those claiming reservation under Article 371(j) (Hyderabad-Karnataka) must submit an Eligibility Certificate from the respective Assistant Commissioner in the prescribed format.

Reservation of Seats:-

Seats will be reserved for the following categories to the extent it is specified by the Government-

  1. The SC / ST/Category-I / 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B and other eligibility criteria is applicable to Karnataka candidates who are eligible to claim eligibility for Government seat sunder clauses (a), (b), (f), (h), (j), (k) and the same is not applicable to eligibility clauses (c), (d), (e), (g), (i) to claim Government Seats and Government quota seats.
  2. Reservation of seats in certain categories such as Rural, Kannada etc and in Special Categories such as NCC, Sports etc is applicable only to Karnataka candidates who are eligible for Government seats and Government Quota seats.

Candidates who are persons with disability (PWD /PH):-

The “Certificate of Disability” must be issued in accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, as notified in the Gazette of India by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment [Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)] on 15th June 2017. To be eligible for reservation under the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) quota, a candidate must have a minimum of 40% disability (Benchmark Disability). Seats under the PWD quota will be allotted based on inter-se merit among eligible PWD candidates. Those with less than 40% disability are not eligible for selection under the PWD quota.

Guidelines to fill the online Application form:

Since the Applicant should upload their photographs in online application entry, the applicant should scan their passport size photograph (Snapped with Name & Date on the photograph) in .jpg format and make it available for uploading with the following specifications.

Width = 1.3 inches, Height = 1.6 inches, Resolution = 200 X 200 dpi and the file size should be less than 100kb.

1. Name of the Candidate: Fill the name in BLOCK LETTERS as per the 10th standard Marks Card.

2. Mother’s Name: Mother’s name in full should be filled.

3. Father’s Name: Father’s Name should correspond to the form and spelling in the 10th standard Marks Card.

4. Date of Birth: The Date of Birth should correspond to the entry in the the10th Marks Card in dd/mm/yyyy.

5. Place of Birth: Select the District in which you were born.

6. Gender: Select from the drop-down list Female/Male.

7. Nationality: Enter the Nationality.

8. Qualifying Examination: PUC (10+2) or Equivalent Examination

9. Marks obtained in II PUC (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics)

10. Domicile of Karnataka: Select from the drop-down list Yes/No.

11. Category: Select the respective category and enclose the certificate obtained from the Tahashildar of Karnataka

How to apply:
Step 1:Candidates must enter all the required details online by visiting the official website at http://kea.kar.nic.in and selecting the link titled “B.Sc Allied Health Science (Lateral Entry) - 2020 Online Registration." Upon successful completion of the registration process, an Application ID and Password will be sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number and email address. The same information will also be displayed on the screen for reference.
Step 2:Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size color photograph, signature, and left-hand thumb impression separately in JPG/JPEG format.
Step 3:The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in the prescribed method.
Step 4:Take a printout of the completed application form on A4-size paper. This printed copy must be submitted during the document verification process.

Document Checklist for B.Sc Allied Health Sciences – Verification Process:
Candidates must produce the following original documents along with one set of attested copies during document verification:

  1. Final printout of the online application and proof of fee payment.
  2. SSLC marks card (as proof of date of birth).
  3. II PUC or equivalent marks card.
  4. Study Certificate signed by BEO/DDPI.
  • Note: Venue and schedule for document verification will be notified on the official website.

5. If applicable, submit:

  • Kannada Medium Certificate (signed by BEO).
  • Rural Study Certificate and GM candidate verification.
  • Caste/Income Certificate (as per category – Forms D, E, or F) from Tahsildar.
  • Domicile Certificate (10 years in Karnataka) or 7-year Study Certificate.
  • Hyderabad-Karnataka Reservation Certificate (Annexure-A) from the Assistant Commissioner.
  • Parent’s study, domicile, or employment proof (for government seat eligibility).
  • Affidavit for Horanadu/Gadinadu Kannadiga & Anglo-Indian candidates.
  • Income Certificate (mandatory for SC/ST/Category-I if fee exemption is claimed).
  • Certificates for exemption from 7-year study rule (if claimed).
  • Physical Fitness Certificate.
