The Online submission of Application form for admission to Paramedical Degree courses for 2023-2024 session in Tamil Nadu Government Medical Colleges, Government seats in Self-Financing Colleges/Institutions affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai-32. can be accessed from the following websites.

NOTE:- The candidates who are unable to access the online application can appear in person with parent or guardian, along with all the original certificates at any one of the facilitation centre available in the nearest Government Medical Colleges / Tamil Nadu Government Dental College and T.F.C.( Tamil Nadu Facilitation Centre) in each District ( where there are no Medical colleges yet) and utilize the facilities to access and apply online.
Candidates are advised to take printout of prospectus and read the prospectus carefully with their parents or Guardians before filling the online application and ensure that no mandatory column is left blank. In the event of Non-Acceptance of the online application form, no correspondence/request for re-consideration will be entertained.
Incomplete online application form will not be accepted

ELIGIBILITY:-The candidate should be a citizen of India.

NATIVITY:- Candidates should be Native of Tamil Nadu (The candidates, who claim their Nativity as Tamil Nadu should submit their nativity certificate issued by the competent Revenue authority of Government of Tamil Nadu.)

NOTE:-
Permanent Residence Certificate in lieu of Nativity Certificate will not be accepted.
Nativity Certificate submitted with application alone will be accepted and sending the Nativity Certificate separately will not be entertained
Candidates belonging to other States cannot claim nativity of Tamil Nadu
Candidates who are Native of Tamil Nadu and who have studied 6TH standard to 12TH standard in schools of Tamil Nadu should also produce Nativity Certificate and Community Certificate issued by the competent authority. The Community Certificate of either one of the parent obtained from the competent Revenue Authority in Tamil Nadu should be enclosed to claim Communal Reservation.
If candidates do not submit the above mentioned certificates and even if he/she had studied Standard 6th to 12th std completely in Tamil Nadu, the candidate will be considered under Open Category only.
Other State candidates who are not native of Tamil Nadu but Studied 6th standard to 12th standard in Tamil Nadu will be considered under Open Category (OC) candidate and have to produce their Bonafide Certificate from school in which he/she studied from std 6th to 12th std

AGE LIMIT :-

For All Courses (Except B.Sc Nursing) Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December 2023
B.sc Nursing Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December 2023. Candidates belonging to OC / BC / BCM / MBC/DNC should not have completed 30 years as on 31st December 2023. For SC / SCA / ST candidates should not have completed 35 years as on 31st December 2023.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:- Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying Examination of the Higher Secondary Course conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other Equivalent Board in the following group of subjects with minimum eligible marks.

B.Pharm, BASLP & B.Optom

English as one of the subject

a) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject (or)

b) Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology (or)

c) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics with any other subject

For All Courses (Except B.Pharm, BASLP & B.Optom

English as one of the subject

(a) Physics, Chemistry, Biology with any other subject. (or)

NOTE:-Candidates who have passed any other equivalent examinations other than Tamil Nadu State Board/CBSE with same group of subjects mentioned above should produce the Eligibility Certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Guindy, Chennai-32. before joining the course.
NOTE:- In the case of candidates who have furnished the mark sheets of the qualifying examination, only in GRADES, the minimum marks of the grades alone will be taken into consideration while determining the marks in the select Science subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany and Zoology.
NOTE:- Candidates who have mark sheets with GRADES should obtain a certified statement of marks from the examination authority and upload the statement of marks for indicating the actual marks secured.
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Course in vocational stream are not eligible to apply to Paramedical Degree Courses

Normalization of Marks:- As per the Tamil Nadu Act No 3 of 2007, dt 05.03.2007 and G.O(Ms) No.77 HE(J2) Dept.dt:05.04.2007, the marks obtained by the students in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by various Boards or Authority shall be equated with the marks obtained by the students in the same subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by the State Board (Government of Tamil Nadu) by adopting the method of normalization. Under the method of normalization, the highest mark obtained by the students of various Boards in each subject will be equated to the highest mark obtained by the students of State Board in that subject and the relative marks obtained by other students in that subject will be determined accordingly.

Illustration:-

If the highest marks secured by the student of State Board in Physics is 100 and the highest mark secured by a student of any other Board in the same subject is 90, both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100. If a student of the other Board secures 60 marks in Physics when the first mark in Physics in the same Board is 90, then 60 marks will be considered to be equal to 66.66 marks as arrived at  below:- 

100X60/90= 66.66%

NOTE:- After normalization of marks in the relevant subjects in the qualifying examination conducted by different Boards, the qualified students of different Boards will be merged into a common merit list. In case of candidates who have qualified from National Boards such as CBSE and ISCE, the highest marks obtained by the candidates at the National Level alone will be taken into consideration for normalization.

MERIT LIST.:-

CALCULATION OF MARKS :-Merit List will be made on merit on the basis of marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examinations reduced to the base of 200 marks. The marks obtained through different Boards will be taken into account after normalization

Ranking of the candidates will be done based on the total marks obtained in the prescribed Subjects after normalization of marks computed to a maximum of 200.

Note:- 
In respect of the candidates who have taken the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology will be taken into account for arriving the General merit list and for those candidates who have taken Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics along with other subjects (other than Biology, Botany and Zoology) the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be taken into account for arriving the merit list for B. Pharmacy / B.ASLP/B.Optom courses only.
Determination of Rank of Candidates obtaining equal marks in all Paramedical Courses (Inter-se Merit)

In cases where two or more candidates obtain equal aggregate for 200, the rank of such candidates shall be determined on the basis of the following order namely:-

i) Percentage in Biology or Botany and Zoology taken together in Higher Secondary Course Examination.

ii) Percentage in Chemistry in Higher Secondary Course examination.

iii) Percentage in Physics in Higher Secondary Course examination.

iv) Percentage in Fourth Optional subject in Higher Secondary Course Examination.

v) Date of Birth – Weightage given to seniority in age.

vi) Computerised Random number assigned. Higher value of random number will be taken into consideration.

ONLINE COUNSELLING PROCEDURE (SINGLE WINDOW SYSTEM)

  1. Online Counseling Schedule will be available only on the website. Candidates should lock their choices of Colleges and Courses as per the schedule
  2. The processing fee of Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty Only) should be paid through online mode via bank payment portal to participate in the online counselling
  3. At the time of choice filling, candidates can choose any number of eligible Courses and Colleges and the allotment will be made based on their choices following merit and rule of reservation.

REPORTING ;- 

  • The allotted candidates should download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the allotted Medical College/Institution in person before the date and time specified in the allotment order along with the Originals and copies of the Certificates.
  • The candidates who have joined in the course during 1st phase of counseling only, are eligible to attend the subsequent phases of counselling for re-allotment. The date of such counselling will be published in the websites and also will be informed to the Dean/The Principal of respective Colleges. No individual intimation will be sent to the candidates
  • The vacancies arising after the first round of counseling and also addition of seats if any due to approval/permission of new colleges will be filled up through subsequent online counseling if necessary.
  • No Re-allottment for any course within Self-financing colleges
  • Individual request for transfer of course and college will not be entertained.
  • Mutual transfer will not be entertained.

METHOD OF SELECTION & ADMISSION :- The selection will be made based on merit and applying the rule of reservation by the Government of Tamil Nadu as follows.

For B.Sc(Nursing) course, the ratio of seats between men and women shall be 1:9 respectively . The Third Gender candidates who identify themselves as female by self declaration supported by the certificate (ID Card) issued by the Tamil Nadu Third Gender Welfare Board (TNGWB) are also elgible to get allotment as female candidates
SEATS RESERVED FOR PERSON WITH BENCHMARK DISABILITY : -5% of the total number of seats available in Government Colleges are reserved for the Differently Abled candidates. The other conditions for admission into Paramedical courses will be applicable as in the case of the general category.

Note: The Admission Process is written as per the ordinance of the official Counselling Agency.

DISCONTINUATION FEE:-The students who are allotted and joined in any of the seats in Govt. Medical Colleges and discontinue the Paramedical Degree courses after the cut-off date should pay the Discontinuation Fee of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rs. One Lakh only) by means of Demand Draft in favor of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai – 10” payable at Chennai.
